Join us for the 2017-2018 School Year

Why Texas City families choose our school

    • Oak Tree Mother’s Day Out has a long time reputation of great experiences and consistent referrals from generations of past and present participants for over 50 years.
    • Our part time hours and small classroom sizes are not only low stress but low cost and perfect for ‘first timers’.
    • Our active and carefully planned curriculum helps us retain students through Pre-K. Our structured program has graduated confident and successful students with an enthusiasm for school and learning and our part time status allows for parents to be actively involved in their child’s learning experience.
    • Grandparents love us!!  For families who do not require full time day care our program is the perfect and affordable choice for those who rely on family care.
    • We celebrate children!  Each season brings new opportunities for us to celebrate with children and families.  Bringing families together for events and celebrations that focus on the littlest members is something we as a school and church love!

Oak Tree Mother’s Day Out is a part time Early Learning Program located on the serene Oak Tree lined grounds of historic First United Methodist Church of Texas City.  With a history of over 150 years in Texas City, it is the firm hope of our FUMC Church Family to provide not only for the child care needs of your family, but your need for a loving church home.

Program Philosophy

We believe in providing children with a low stress, Christian environment in which to learn, grow and play.  The part time hours and small class sizes of our program help children to establish trust, independence and build relationships that all contribute to a positive concept of school and thus learning.  Our carefully planned curriculum focuses on social competence and kindergarten readiness.  We believe that children are in a constant state of learning and strive to meet the developmental needs of each child individually and as participant in their classroom community. Involving the family in this process is an important part of our program and special events and seasonal celebrations are planned throughout the year.  Our goal is to impact the child and family and facilitate experiences that leave lasting memories.
